Neurofeedback Technician

Nyah Beuter (she, her, hers)

With dreams of one day pursuing a career in medicine, I started my journey by receiving a combined bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, chemistry and environmental sciences from the University of British Columbia.  My life science studies were focused in neuroscience, with a particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the impact of various drug interventions.  In my chemistry studies I learned the science behind various pharmaceutical compounds and strengthened my understanding of the chemical and electrical processes that underlie brain activity.  After completing my bachelor’s degree I moved back home to train as a neurofeedback technician and greater my understanding of the mind and body’s impact on the health and behavior of individuals from various backgrounds.  My goal is to eventually take this knowledge with me through medical school and use it as a practitioner to better treat the whole patient by integrating both mental and physical aspects of their health into their treatment plan.

As a self diagnosed super nerd, when I am not studying you can often find me lost in a book or enjoying intellectually stimulating conversation with my friends and family.
